I just finished the first in hopefully a series of books about Conscious Artificial Intelligence , rather than copy paste an excerpt I thought it would be more interesting to write a short summary / overview on the topic, you can find excerpts and the full book here :

Say What ?

Maybe you’ve never heard of the term Conscious Artificial Intelligence ( I’ve come to call it C.A.I. for short and pronounce it kai ) , maybe you know that you are conscious, yet you can’t quite put down a definition or have questions like: how do we became conscious ? What happens during unconscious periods like sleep and coma ? what are ideas made of ? that sort of questions, and maybe you are a software developer, data scientist, neuroscientist or entrepreneur and are more interested in the nuts and bolts, the details, commercial applications and other considerations of current and future AIs, in this sense I wrote the book for all of you since I share those same interests and questions.

Ultimately I wrote it because I think you should write the book that you would like reading and the one I would like to read is a manual for understanding and recreating the phenomenon we call consciousness, a manual that I can give to anybody, not just experts, but folks in general.I ended up dividing it into 3 parts due to the length and still missing pieces, this overview covers the first one.
